New Hobby

Hello everyone.

I started collecting reborn dolls back in September of 2018. I now have 19 dolls altogether. I have five (5) Ashton-Drake dolls, one (1) NPK, one (1) full body silicone and twelve (12) reborns.

 

What is a Reborn Doll?

*Reborn doll: A reborn doll is an art doll created from a manufactured doll or kit that has been transformed by an artist to resemble a human infant with as much realism as possible. The process of creating a reborn doll is referred to as reborning and the doll artists are referred to as reborners. Wikipedia

I love my dolls and enjoy changing and cuddling them. I will share each of my dolls one by one with you. I will tell you all about the doll featured and share photos.

Sketch challenge.

I subscribe to The Scraproom for monthly scrapbook kits. They post challenges each month on their Facebook group. This month I am participating in the challenges.

This is for the Jump-Start Sketch challenge. I used the September 2018 kit, Fancy Pants, Magnola Moments.

Making My Own Background Pattern

I was thinking about a layout today. I wanted to make my own background pattern and use some alphas that didn't have any vowels. I started with a piece of white cardstock.

I glued the alphas all around in no particular order.

I added gesso to tone down the colors.

I know the camera doesn't pick it up but I sprayed with handmade gold simmer mist. Also I added slashes of Blackberry, Perfect Pearls Mandarin, and Perfect Pearls Forever Blue mists.
Now to find just the right photo.

 Here it is. This is a little boy that goes to my church. He had his pawpaw's glasses. I matted the photo on 2 pieces of 6x6 pattern paper from Stampin' Up!, added some stickers from my stash and here you go.

 

I forgot the "e" in hide but went back and added it.
